Co-coordinator
Josh Round has 25 years of professional experience in ELT as a teacher, a teacher trainer, and academic manager.
He is the Group Academic Director for St Giles International (UK & Canada), and Co-coordinator of the IATEFL Leadership and Management Special Interest Group.
Barbara Barbara Craig has been an active member of the TESOL professional community for 30 years, including 10 years leading in a university English language centre in Sydney, Australia. She has a passion for staff development and wellbeing and enjoys fostering the professional growth of others. Her ELT work has been recognised in Australia, winning national awards for Academic Leadership, and also for Professional Practice. She is now a researcher, undertaking a PhD exploring the professional growth of middle leaders in ELT. She holds a Masters of Applied Linguistics, Masters of Research, Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching, and a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and Languages.

Tanya (BA/MA in TESOL, Delta, CELTA) is an EFL teacher, teacher trainer, content creator, and oral examiner in Greece and abroad. She has attended and completed a plethora of courses delivered by universities in Greece and abroad. She is an avid supporter of lifelong learning. She has also presented in various conferences here and abroad and her articles can be found in magazines and academic journals.
Her main research interests are teachers mentoring, teachers’ observation and feedback as well as the introduction of Social Emotional Learning in the classroom. Finally, she is a board member of TESOL Macedonia Thrace Northern Greece, a member of TESOL Greece, and of IATEFL.
Alex (MLS, DELTA) loves seeing how people tick. Over the years, he has developed a passion that makes me get up each day and say “I get to go to work today!”
Passion is also what keeps him motivated when the universe decides to throw challenges his way. And over time, he’s realized challenges are no more than opportunities to grow.
He currently applies his passion to the role of Academic Director at Well & Will Language Academy in the Spanish Basque Country.

Mike Riley
Mike Mike Riley joined NILE as Deputy Director in 2020 after spending four years as Teacher Training Manager at Macmillan Education. He started his teaching career in 2001 working with refugees and asylum seekers in his native Manchester. He then spent 15 years working as a teacher, director of studies and school director at International House Milan.
His role at NILE involves supporting strategic and organisational management as well as training and consultancy in a range of areas including educational management, British culture, using video and image in the classroom and general language teaching methodology.
He has worked as an inspector for International House and regularly presents on management and leadership topics. Mike has MA modules in Management in Language Education and Trainer Development.
Paul Ashe
Paul has been involved in the world of TEFL since 1997. He is a lifelong learner and has experienced various areas of the ELT sector as teacher, print and digital materials writer, editor, online and F2F teacher trainer, Academic Manager, School Director & Educational Consultant. Paul has been involved in Business and Academic Management and Consultancy since 2004 and has provided consultancy for several publishers. He has been a senior manager of a large private language school and is qualified and experienced in online marketing and E-learning. He has helped State and Private School teachers around the world in conjunction with their respective Ministries of Education and international organisations. He trains teachers and managers on a range of courses, from Business Management, Academic Management, Online Tutoring, CELTA, DELTA ELTM, TKT, Business English Teaching and Customer Service.

Petra Rovitti
Petra runs an officially certified Cambridge Preparation Center and is a TEFL-certified teacher, teaching English online, mainly offering 1:1 classes.
Holding a Master’s degree in the Economics of Tourism, she was a member of the IATM from 2017 to 2020. Over the years, she has attended and completed numerous courses offered by universities and various institutions, covering topics ranging from teaching religion through art to managing websites and social media for communication and marketing strategies.
Having the English language been the staple in her life, this diverse background enables her to provide tailored lessons that meet her students' specific interests and needs. In fact, since 2017, she have been teaching students of various levels and ages, and today, most of her students are managers.
She loves writing and has had several of her articles published in Gesù Risorto magazine from 2010 to 2018. Her main hobby is bullet journaling.
Lucie Cotterill
Lucie is based in South Italy, Lucie has been in ELT since 2001, and in leadership since 2006. She is Director of Innovation at a medium-sized private language school and has formerly worked as a DoS, Academic Director, and Educational Project Manager. In her current role, she has taught a range of ages and levels, teaching mainly online now, as well as leading innovation projects, organising the academic content of conferences and managing the recruitment process for academic staff, amongst other things. She is the DoS Community Coordinator for IH World, tutors on the IH OTTI Academic Management Diploma courses, is a local tutor for DELTA Module 2, an Inspector, and has been actively involved with IATEFL for several years.

Sandra Pitronaci
Sandra is Newsletter Editor and Committee Member of IATEFL LAMSIG, and has been a member of LAMSIG throughout much of her ELT career. She also serves as the Convenor of English Australia AMSIG, is Contributing Editor with the English Australia Journal, and is one of a dedicated Admin team for the Australia-New Zealand #AusELT Facebook Community of Practice. Sandra is National Academic Director ELICOS & Pathways at ILSC Australia, where she leads the academic teams across Australia’s five national campuses. As an ELT leader, she is a fervent believer in psychological safety as being key to building an exceptional school ethos.
Johnnie Yates
Jonathan has been in the EFL industry since 2010. Based in Taipei, Taiwan, he is a teacher, academic manager, and teacher trainer for Inspired Kids and Inspired CPD. Having fallen in love with the profession, he’s passionate about furthering his own knowledge and understanding alongside helping others achieve their goals on their journey within an industry that has brought him such joy. He also loves going up mountains with his wonderful wife.

Jennifer Lowe
Jennifer has 28 years of experience in ELT and is the director of Jennifer Lowe School of English (Milan), founded in 1996. She regularly speaks at IATEFL conferences and other national and international events/webinars. Her main research interests are grammar, semantics, and corpus linguistics. A former president of the Italian National Association of Translators & Interpreters, she is part of the Cambridge University Press & Assessment Corpus Linguistics and ELT Pedagogy freelancers’ researcher network and contributes to the World of Better Learning blog.
Mariana Hidalgo
Mariana is an English sworn translator, teacher, and Educational Specialist with an MA in Applied Linguistics. She has over 20 years of teaching experience in public and private education. Currently, she consults for major educational institutions, leads research projects, trains teachers, lectures internationally, and publishes on language learning's social and emotional aspects. She also founded and directs English language centres in Argentina.

Özlem Baykan
Özlem is a Team Leader at Özyeğin University School of Languages, İstanbul. She holds a B.A. and M.A. in ELT from Bilkent University, DELTA, and M.Sc. in Educational Leadership from METU, currently working on her thesis on gender equality in academic leadership.
Besides her 15-year ELT experience, Özlem also works as a CELTA trainer; an EAQUALS Consultant and Inspector, and as a committee member of Standards Professional Council at TESOL International Association.
Her special interests are quality assurance, educational leadership and training.
Matina Gatsou
Matina has worked in the EFL industry for 17 years as a teacher, curriculum developer, and trainer, and is currently the Director of Teacher Training and Development at EF Teach Online. She holds an MA in Education: Leadership & Management and the Cambridge DELTA. A big advocate of sharing experiences and practices, she regularly presents at conferences such as IATEFL, TESOL Spain, etc. In her free time, she loves to explore the Swiss mountains, spend time with loved ones, and travel.

Simon Cox
Simon is a freelance academic management consultant and teacher-trainer who has spent most of his 30-year ELT career working in Asia, but who also gets to spend a lot of time at home in the North of England – especially at IH Newcastle. He’s also an assessor/moderator on a wide range of Cambridge and Trinity teaching qualifications. His recent conference presentations and articles have all related to trying to make some kind of sense of complex situations – especially how he fits into his own.
Daniella Seong Hui You
Daniella is the Executive Academic Manager in Learning & Development at Cultura Inglesa, based in Brazil. She is responsible for the pre and in-service training programmes and teacher development initiatives. She has implemented and managed teacher development programmes and courses for teachers for the past 14 years and is involved with teacher training for over 20 years.
Her latest papers, publications and presentations were related to CPD programmes, teacher performance evaluation and policies for teacher development.
She has also been running CELTA and DELTA courses as a tutor for 16 years and is a CELTA assessor. She is a DELTA holder, has a degree in Economics (USP) and a Postgraduate diploma in Professional Development for Language Education at Nile (UK).

Katherine is a past LAM SIG IATEFL scholarship winner (2016) and has given regular talks on English language teaching and academic management at IATEFL and other international and local conferences. She holds an M.Ed. from Minsk State Linguistic University (1999), Cambridge CELTA, IH CELTYL, Cambridge Delta, IH Certificate in Educational Management, and is currently studying towards her second Master’s at NILE (Norwich Institute for Language Education).
From 2014 to 2019 she worked as an academic manager at the British Council Ukraine and is now a member of the British Council English Online team, as well as a Professional Skills trainer and course writer. She blogs about teaching, learning and managing at Kate’s ELT Crate eltcrate.wordpress.com.
She spends her free time reading science fiction and fantasy, working out at the gym, listening to extreme metal, watching Asian dramas, or doing all of it at once.
